Meet Vicky & Jesse!
They are getting married next July.
We headed out to a farm out in Schaumburg that provided us with some beautiful scenery and light.

I had a great time with Erica and Scott during their engagement session! They decided to go with Arlington Park Race Track because it's a very special place for them (not to mention beautiful!). Erica's family has horses that race there and have been going frequently for many years!
How cool that the mascot had a Batman cape... and Scott just so happened to be wearing his Batman shirt!

They married at St. Paul the Apostle in Gurnee, IL, and then celebrated with dinner and dancing at European Crystal Banquets.
They were all such troopers!! It was raining on and off all day and everyone just rolled with it. :)

Meet Catherine and Joe. I am fortunate enough to photograph them again for their wedding this August!
They were such troopers, it was SO cold and windy that morning! On the bright side, they did get to snuggle a lot to keep warm, and Catherine has the most AMAZING wind hair I've ever seen.

I'm so excited to share Christina & Alana's sunrise engagement session!
I know what you are thinking... why in the world would someone want to do a session at 5am? Well, I'd say that 90% of my sessions in downtown Chicago are at sunrise, or pretty close to it. I am able to get shots with beautiful soft light without having to worry about other people in the background of my photos; which is usually the case in the evening. My clients are awesome enough to trust me when it comes to things like this. ;) Although, this time, it was the other way around. Christina and Alana were the ones who suggested a sunrise session. This was the spot where they had their first date. Christina invited Alana to go watch the sunrise with her over Lake Michigan, and the rest is history. I absolutely love it when couples choose locations that are part of their story. And, let's face it, this setting so romantic!
Then the sun peeked out from behind the clouds and allowed me to capture this beautiful silhouette!
And then, five minutes later, because it's Chicago... it rained! But we went with it!!
Kissing in the (sunny?) rain... Seriously, how could you not love these two?
Then we walked back to the harbor for a few more shots.

Meet the C Family!! These kids were hilarious and full of energy! We headed over to a local forest preserve for some photos of the kids.

When Sarah & Brian asked to have their photos done at the Morton Arboretum I was so excited.
Since they are getting married in Chicago next year, they preferred something very different from a city shoot. This was the perfect setting for just that. The colors were absolutely perfect, and I am so glad the weather cooperated!
